10th Street from Charles Allen to Monroe Drive will be closed starting on Friday, July 2 at 12:00pm to Sunday, July 4 at 3:00pm.
Monroe Drive will close between Virginia Avenue and Kanuga Street at 7am on Sunday, July 4 and will remain closed until around noon.
Peachtree Place Closed from Peachtree to West Peachtree at 8am on Sunday, July 4 and remain closed until noon.

The Georgia Charter Schools Commission (GCSC) today approved the creation of two statewide virtual charter schools that together will serve grades 4-12. A virtual school offers courses to students via the Internet with teachers available online and by telephone.

Ordinance 10-O-0468, which modifies the Atlanta Code of Ordinances Chapter 150 (Entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking”), Division 4 (Entitled “Residential Permit Parking”), so as to amend the procedures to be followed for the establishment of Residential Permit Parking Areas within the City of Atlanta, is on the Transportation Committee Agenda for consideration. The Committee will hold a Public Hearing on this issue May 26, 2010. (more inside)


Dogwood Weekend Traffic Alert: Multiple Events

The City of Atlanta will be hosting multiple events during the dates of April 16-18, 2010. We anticipate large volumes of vehicular traffic and strongly encourage all participants to utilize MARTA. Some of the larger events that will be occurring are the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, Braves Baseball at Turner Stadium, Sweetwater 420 Festival in Candler Park, and the FIRST Robotics Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center. Every effort will be made by the City and the Atlanta Police Department to provide the least amount of disruption to those residents whose neighborhoods are directly affected by any of these events.
